Vasectomy – Permanent Male Contraceptive

A simple, 15 minute in-office procedure, to permanently avoid getting women pregnant. Many men choose this easier contraceptive methods so they don't have to "kill" the mood, looking for condoms or asking whether woman is on birth control pills, etc. Or you may have a large family, and choose not to pro-create any longer. Or you want to show your faithfulness to your loved one by letting her know that there won't be any other children created by you. During your consultation, we will assess your reasons for wanting the procedure, go over your medical history, and physical examination. We'll go over the risks and benefits, and obtain fully informed concent. We want you to be comfortable and certain about the decision, and knowledgeable about the procedure. Then we'll schedule your procedure on another date. On the date of your procedure, you'll need someone to drive you. We usually give our patients sedating medications, similar to "twilight sleep" along with local anesthesia. There is NO general anesthesia, and you will be comfortable throughout the procedure. 

We use NO-scalpel method, and use flushing technique to hasten your time to sterility. Normally, after vasectomy, you'd still need to use traditional  contraceptive for approximately 4-8 weeks to make sure any remaining sperm in the tubes are emptied out. Our flushing method can reduce that time to 1-3 weeks. Our No-scalpel method minimizes any chance of infection or suture placement. There will be no dressings, and you can shower the next day, and bath in 3 days. We do ask you to apply antibiotics ointment on the wound several times a day to aid in healing. You can go back to work the next day, and usually ibuprofen and tylenol are enough for pain control.
